South Africa hosts a large variety of fruit picking experiences for you to enjoy. I have rounded up arguably the most comprehensive list of where you can pick your own fruit the Western Cape.  

 

Where to pick fruit in the Western Cape:

 

  • Klondyke Cherry farm

Situated 30km from the town of Ceres in the Western Cape you will find Klondyke Cherry farm. Climb up ladders, or pick the cherries hanging on the low branches, the choice is yours but the end result will be the same, the tastiest, juiciest cherries for you to devour.   • Mooiberge Farm Stall

Located just outside Cape Town in Stellenbosch.

 

Where: Mooiberge Farm, R44, Annandale Rd, Stellenbosch, 7600

When: October- December

Price: R6 entry fee and R40/kg of strawberries (Please call to find out if these prices are still correct)

Attractions on site: Marvel at the large strawberries and see the life size colourful metal scarecrows.

  • Polkadraai Strawberry Farm

 

Where:Polkadraai Farm M12, Stellenbosch Arterial Road, Stellenbosch

When: September-January

Strawberry Picking

Attractions on site: Tractor rides, Pony rides, Mini golf, Face painting, Arts and craft, Play Ground, Food Court. I am not sure if there are any halaal food options here in the Food Court.

  • Hoogwater Farm

Where: Only 110km out of Cape Town.

R43, Hoogwater Farm, Wolesely, Western Cape

 

When: 

Nectarines: 27th and 28th November 2021  

Figs, Apples, Peaches and Pears: Between 8 January- 5 February 2022

The farm will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 08H till 13H

 

Price: -R60 per person 13 years and older

           -R30 per child 3 till 12 years

Whilst in the Orchid you can eat as much fruit as you like.

  • Wildebraam Berry Estate

Where: Swellandam, S4 Hermitage South Lane, Hermitage Valley.

When: Mid November till the end of December

Price: Entrance Fee per person is R15

-R12 for the medium bucket

-R17 for the large bucket 

Or you can bring your own bucket.
