What Fun Family Activities can you do in Knysna?

Are you currently in or travelling to Knysna and looking for things to do with your family?

We have compiled a list to assist you in your planning.

This list is in no specific order:

Adventure Land Water Park 

This park is situated between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. There are lots of water activities for the kids to enjoy. Adventure Land is suitable for the entire family. The water activities range from relaxed to high adrenaline. Picnics and braais are allowed. The rates for December 2019 – November 2020 are as follows:

Entry Fee – R160 per person

Under 3 years – R60 per person

Groups of 10 or more – R145 per person (Pre-booked and pre-paid only)

Pensioners – R120 per person


Garden of Eden

This is  small loop of about 1km. Its nice for a short walk. The  walk is along a board and is completely wheelchair friendly. Picnics are allowed. However, there are no braai facilities. There is a minimal entrance fee to pay for adults and kids.


Knysna Elephant Park

The elephant park is open 365 days a year and is open from 9am to 3pm daily.

The daily tour rates are:

Adults – R320

Children (5-12) – R160

Children (under 5) – free

Pensioners & students – R230

Groups (over 10) – R265

Elephant snack bucket – R45


Featherbed Private Nature Reserve

This nature reserve is situated on western head in Knysna. There are a few experiences you can choose from. However, this is the budget option:

3 hour experience (excluding buffet lunch) – the lunch is not halaal.

  • Return ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head.
  • 4×4 vehicle & trailer drive up the headland onto the Reserve , stopping at spectacular viewpoints.
  • Specialist guide giving information on history, fauna & flora.
  • Optional guided 2.2km walk through coastal forest and fynbos into ancient sea caves.
  • Wonderful family outing, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Children (4-15) – R135

The departure point is from Featherbed Ferry Terminus on Remembrance Drive off Waterfront Drive.


Jubilee Creek

This is an amazing picnic spot and there are lovely walks for the entire family to enjoy. Please note there is a permit required before entering and a drive along a gravel road to get to the entrance.
